Our Focus Area

CIEPD understands climate action and finance as an opportunity for building sustainable peace. CIEPD sees Conflict and climate as interwoven elements. Conflict slows down progress of climate at the same time climate exacerbates conflict. From this perspective, CIEPD engages in activities that protects the environment and addresses climate impacts. CIEPD aims to mitigate on the causes of environmental damages and destruction, such as flooding, destruction of bio diversity, destruction of Niger Delta means of livelihood, loss of habitats, low agricultural produce, global warming, desertification, and health effects (Water, sanitation and Hygiene). These are through building capacities of communities and supporting relevant institutions to protect the environment.
